House of Huawei (Initial Thoughts)
I'm currently reading through Eva Dou's House of Huawei, going back and forth between each chapter and the copious footnote material offered on the publisher's official website. Love the narrative, but I feel that some of the content is grasping to understand authoritarianism and Huawei's role within a rising China. Nevertheless, works like Dou's offer some important insights into how companies like Huawei operate, and why we find them so fascinating, and, from the American government's perspective, suspicious.
